Six class series tackles topics important to mature adults and their families
Are you prepared for the next chapter of your life? Have you thought about what is next for you? How you want to live? What preparations you need to make? How you will pay for it? Wouldn’t it be great if you were educated about how to plan for your future, what your senior living options are, what’s involved in selling your home, or how to prepare for aging-in-place?
The Smart Senior Series is here to help you “Be Smart” about all of those things (and more!). The series, consisting of six seminars, will explore topics near and dear to adults 55 and older and their families. Each session will run approximately 90 minutes and include a panel of experts who will present facts, and bust myths, about the featured topic. A Q&A session will follow. Panels will be moderated by Ingrid and John Sullivan, owners of Senior Downsizing Experts and authors of The Ultimate Guide to Downsizing.
“We created this series to help mature adults separate fact from fiction. They see things on TV and hear rumors from friends and they aren’t sure what the truth is about these topics,” says Ingrid. “We have partnered with senior-focused professionals whose goal is to help seniors, not take advantage of them. We are bringing these experts together on these panels to educate our attendees so they can ‘Be Smart’ as they make decisions about their future.”
The first panel, “Be Smart About Planning for Your Future,” will be presented on January 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bob Duncan Center in Arlington. In this seminar, experts will discuss important legal considerations, ways to preserve wealth, how to be prepared for any situation, and how to avoid being caught unprepared in a time of crisis.
Future seminars will cover topics such as senior housing options, preparing a home for sale, downsizing/rightsizing, and aging-in-place.
2018 sponsors include Old Republic Title, Overture Highlands, Retirement Funding Solutions, Home Care Assistance, Legend Senior Living of Mansfield, Dignity Memorial, and Davidson Law Group.
There is no cost to attend for those 55 or older or their guests. Registration for professionals is $25. Reservations can be made at www.SmartSeniorSeries.com or by calling 817-330-9235. Space is limited so guests are asked to pre-register to reserve their spot.
